PulsaCoil Hotwater Cylinder

PulsaCoil Hotwater Cylinder

The PulsaCoil Hotwater Cylinder - PCBP 150 (located in the store cupboard) provides hot water at mains pressure whenever you need it.

It is a separate sealed tank of water that gets heated according to the settings you provided to the TimeGuard Economy 7 Programmer.

This sealed water tank is inside a metal casing which has no user adjustable parts. Above this sealed casing is a plastic feeder tank showing minimum and maximum levels of water that needs to be in this feeder tank, and needs to be checked regularly.

The hot water that comes from your tap is the mains cold water that gets heated instantaneously when it flows through coiled pipes within the sealed hot water cylinder.

The water in the sealed tank (142 litres) takes one hour to get heated to a maximum temperature of 75°C.

However, the temperature of the mains water that flows through the coiled pipes and out of the hot water taps is 55°C.

Be careful this is still too hot to handle in your hands. This is the temperature that has been decided by the Government for health and safety reasons to protect you from water related illnesses like Legionnaires Disease.

The PulsaCoil Hotwater Cylinder unit should be left switched on at all times. If your apartment is to be left empty for more than a month, it’s recommended that someone opens all taps for a brief period and flushes the WC every two weeks.

Hints & Tips

Because it takes only one hour to heat the sealed water in the PulsaCoil Hotwater to the maximum temperature of 75°C and the TimeGuard Economy 7 Programmer has a thermostatically controlled switch, the full seven hours of off-peak electricity does not have to be used saving energy and reducing costs.
