ENERGY

Due to the increase in energy prices, in April 2022, council tax payers will receive £150 as a rebate.  This does not have to be repaid so it is a gift.  This payment will not be provided for empty properties.  If you pay your council tax by direct debit this money will be paid into your account.  If you don't pay by direct debit you will have to make alternative arrangements with Lewes District Council.

The energy supplied to your apartment is electricity. Gas is not used in your apartment. However, Gas is used in the main kitchen for the preparation of the food supplied to all homeowners. It is also used for the underfloor heating of the communal areas of Eversley Court.

The Economy 7 off-peak electricity period for E.ON Next is –

Winter (GMT) 00:30am – 07:30am

Summer (BST) 01:30am – 08:30am

The original electricity supplier for all the apartments was E.ON Next. However, some homeowners changed suppliers. Check who your electricity supplier is.

On the wall of your store cupboard is the mains electricity entry cables/unit.

Most apartments have Smart Meters fixed to the wall with a plugin smart meter display unit which can be placed anywhere in the apartment (obviously near a power point). These smart meters display and send, to your supplier, the number of units of electricity consumed in your apartment without the need for an engineer coming around to read your meter or you having to send them your readings.

Your Smart Meter also displays the current date and time and, dependent on your electricity supplier, automatically adjusts for the twice yearly clock changes. If E.ON Next is your supplier you have to perform this action.

Below the smart meter is the electricity fuse box. All the fuse switches should be in the up position. If any of your lights or power points fail, the offending fuse switch will be in the down position. Pushing it to the up position should make them working again. Inform the Management Team if you have done this or if it does not rectify the situation.  If you do get a power failure check the date and time settings on your heating, boiler, ventilation and oven clock controls.

You are responsible for all the electricity equipment that need replacing.
