Room Heating Hints & Tips

For the heating in your lounge, kitchen and bedrooms to come on, the Timeswitch for the appropriate zone, and the thermostat for that room, have to work in conjunction with each other.

But you don’t know in advance the times it is going to be cold during the next day, making it difficult to set the ON/OFF times.

So, some homeowners set the heating to come on and go off during the off-peak period at night. If the room temperature goes below the thermostat setting, the heating will come on whilst you are asleep, and the room won’t be too cold the next morning. During the day if it starts to get cold the heating will NOT come on until you press ON, +1HR or MAN

Other homeowners prefer to control the heating of those rooms in the same way they control the hallway and the shower room i.e. if the room is cold just turn up the thermostat. This is done by setting both Timeswitch zones to ON (follow this link).

Now when you want the heating to come on just set the room thermostat as you would the Hall thermostat (follow this link).
